How has being a stylist played a role in your life? What’s your work/life balance like with that kind of a job? I need to be able to travel at a moments notice and sometimes I’m off to another city for just less than 24 hours! This means, that my packing skills rely on choosing versatile pieces that I can jet-set in, items I can wear from one city to another, and in any given season. I try to focus on investing in pieces that are timeless and have really learned the importance of what it means to simplify.
What does “Changemaker” mean to you? To me, a Changemaker, is someone who isn’t afraid to go against the grain, to challenge themselves for a greater good, Who has a vision so big that they dedicate their entire lives to it despite whether or not it ‘makes sense’ to others. Passion! Fury! Soul! Not the ones who imitate art, but those who authentically make it.
Why did you choose these outfits? Tell us about how you take this look from work to play, and why it’s great for traveling. This is the perfect dress to take from desk to destination! Throwing on a blazer and a simple strap heel, is the perfect blend of professional meets chic. After Summer Friday, when I’m ready to take this dress with me on a weekend trip, I just pack up the blazer, add a bold and bright lip color, rock a pair of wedges and a clutch with enough room to fit the little things I’d need for a train ride upstate!
What have been some of the most inspiring locations that you’ve traveled to recently (work-wise and style-wise)? Earlier this year, I travelled back and forth to LA for work and it was the perfect dose of sunshine and inspiration to get me through a cold New York City winter. Now, I’m all about weekend getaways with best friends, good music, conversation, food, and summer cocktails. There’s nothing like getting out of the city, road tripping upstate or to the Cape for a little lake or beach house time. It’s the perfect refresher.
